Children Parliment Programme
Mainstreaming Key Strategic Plan and Networking

On 29th March 2022, KROSS had conducted one-day workshop on Mainstreaming key Strategic Plan and Networking for all the coordinators of fourteen DSSSs. the Programme commenced at 9:40am with prayer song followed by welcome address by Mr. Saver Fernandes from KDDC Karwar.

The Introduction to the Programme was given by Mr. Varghese G.M the project officer, KROSS and the Director of KROSS briefed about the importance of the workshop and gave presentation on Solidarity, Common Good, Human Rights, and Subsidiarity which would help all the coordinators and their mode of working. Mr. Robert D'Souza the Programme Associate from Caritas India, shared his views on the Four Key Strategic Pillars such as Empowering Animation, Dialogue, Volunteering and sharing Community. He explained in detail about the implementation process and indicators to achieve strategic actions.

The Main Resource Person of the Day Mr.Y. Mariswamy explained about the Child Rights and its history on State Level, National Level and International Level. International Children's Day and Children's Rights Day celebration was started on 20th November 1989. In India it is celebrated on 14th November every year on account of the first Prime minister Mr. Jawaharlal Nehru's Birthday. He also briefed about the four main Child Rights such as Right to Live, Right to Protection, Right to Participate and Right to Development.

He explained about the process of Children's Parliament and its functions. After the session the participants discussed on the topic and clarified their doubts.

Mr. Varghese G.M the project officer, KROSS, briefed about the five years prospective plan of KROSS and SWOT analysis of the organization. Mr. Robert D'Souza the Programme Associate from Caritas discussed with the participants about the action plan for a year through planning the activities on monthly wise.

The workshop concluded at 4:45pm with vote thanks by Mrs. Yammuna K.N. ODP, Mysore.
