Groundwater: Making the Invisible Visible

Through this webinar, CIDAL of Caritas India in collaboration with Caritas Asia discussed how to conserve preserve and safeguard the groundwater resource through rainwater conservation. It helped us gain knowledge about the sustainable methods of water management and groundwater recharging.

The World Water Day celebrates water and brings issues to light of the worldwide water crisis, and focus is to help the accomplishment of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6: water and sanitation for all by 2030. The topic of day was "Groundwater: Making the Invisible Visible”. The webinar titled “THE PROSPECTS OF GROUNDWATER RECHARGING and HARVESTING" was held on March 22, 2022 to recognize World Water Day and discussed how to moderate, save and safeguard the groundwater resources through water preservation, recharging and collecting. The webinar began with a prayer by Mrs. Shemray at 10.00 am and Mr. Zac Gomez welcomed the gathering. Fr. Paul Moonjely delivered the keynote address. There were three speakers for the day who enhanced that water is under outrageous danger from a growing population, due to extensive demand from agriculture and industry, and the deteriorating effects of environmental and climatic changes. Later there was open forum to put forth the queries and discuss. The webinar ended by a vote of thanks by MS. Babita Alick. It was a fruitful forum, which gave us an insight on the importance of GROUNDWATER: MAKING THE INVISBLE VISIBLE
