A day's training was organized by KROSS on 21st June 2018 on “Corporate Social Responsibility and Opportunities for Funds” in which 67 participants from all over Karnataka participated.

Mr. Rajashekar, Project Officer, KROSS welcomed the Resource Person and the participants and expounded the importance and need of mobilizing local resources by the NGOs to keep their activities ongoing.

The Resource Person explained the CSR clause of the new Companies Act, 2013 and said that the NGOs should comply with the requirements of the Corporate so that they are able to tap funds from them for their field activities. The NGO should give out accurate information regarding their projects i.e. survey reports, target population, location, sustainability of the projects and their success ratio on request. The organization should be ready to submit an affidavit by the authorized signatory attesting to the authenticity of the information given. The NGO should prepare their annual report and circulate so that they get wide publicity and their visibility increases.

Fr. Sebastian Fernandes, Director, KROSS impressed on the participants that our survival now depends on local fund mobilization as foreign funding is drying up and also the donors today are looking at areas untapped for future development.

The day’s programme was moderated by Sr. Zita D’souza, Project Officer, KROSS and the vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. Rayappa, BDDS, Ballari.
