TRAINING ON FACILITATION SKILLS

KROSS organized a Training on Facilitation Skills to the Trainers of its Partners and like-minded organizations in Karnataka from 18th to 20th September 2018. A total of 47 participants from all over the State participated in the trainings.

Mr. G. M. Varghese, Project Officer, KROSS introduced the Resource Person, Mr. Krishnamoorthi Joshi, Administrative Training Institute, Mysuru.

The Resource Person explained that a facilitator is someone who engages and helps a group of people understand their common objectives and assists them to plan how to achieve these objectives; in doing so, the facilitator remains "neutral" meaning he/she does not take a particular position. If you want to be a good facilitator then you have to develop the qualities of Faithfulness, Acceptance, Communicator, Inspirer, Listener, Imitator, Teacher, Adviser, Technician, Observer and Reader. The Resource Person kept the participants well engaged through innovative sessions in improving their skills of observance, reflex, listening, communication, diagnosis, analysis and emphasised the need to avoid dependency.

Mr. Clement Fernandes, Manager-Programs, welcomed the Resource Team & Participants and moderated the three days’ sessions. Mr. Hemanth Kumar, JVSSS, Mandya proposed the vote of thanks.
