Women in Micro Enterprise – 24th January 2019

A Review Meeting of the program, Women in Micro Enterprises supported by SAMRUDI Rural Upliftment Foundation was held at KROSS Resource Centre, Bengaluru on 24th January 2019 in which Coordinators and Animators from the Diocesan Social Service Societies (DSSSs) participated. Mr. Amith, Project Officer, SAMRUDI organized and conducted the program.

The meeting began with a prayer followed by Rev. Fr. Sebastian Fernandes, Director, SAMRUDI underlining our role of motivating, empowering and skilling the women at the grassroots to enable them to take up viable activity through which they could build a sustainable income, thereby augmenting their family income and leading to socio-economic equality. Later he introduced the resource person, Mr. G.M Varghese, who conducted training on Entrepreneurship Awareness Program (EAP) for the participators.

Mr. G. M. Varghese then explained to the participants that we have to create entrepreneurship awareness to make the people understand that they have to take up some alternate enterprise so that they can change the way they live and work, improve their standard of living, create additional income for their families and also create jobs.

This was followed by the DSSSs Coordinators presenting their reports, which were evaluated, analysed and the action plan prepared for the next six months. This was followed with suggestions and feedback for better implementation of the program by Rev. Fr. Sebastian Fernandes and Sr. Zita D’souza, Chief Coordinator, Women Empowerment Program.
