WORKSHOP ON STRENGTHENING PANCHAYATRAJ INSTITUTIONS

Karnataka Regional Organization for Social Service (KROSS) organized a Workshop at KROSS Resource Centre, Bengaluru on 16th November, 2018 to deliberate and seek a way forward to strengthen the Panchayatraj Institution in the State so that the rural villages and its inhabitants enjoy the benefits available through the Gram Panchayats. The Workshop was attended by 167 participants from all over the state.

Mr. G. M. Varghese, Project Officer, KROSS welcomed the participants, introduced the Resource Person and spoke on the Gram Panchayats and their status today.

Rev. Fr. Sebastian Fernandes inaugurated the Workshop by formally lighting the lamp and in his address encouraged the participants to contest the forthcoming elections and be part of the various committees so that they themselves could bring in the needed transformation in their villages.

Mr. Wilfred D’souza, the person who has travelled all over India giving inputs on the Gram Panchayats to various state government officials was the Resource Person for the day. He was brief and to the point answering the queries and the doubts of the participants.

Sr. Zita D’souza, Project Officer, KROSS compered the day’s proceedings, Mr. Clement Fernandes, Manager, Program Support, KROSS moderated the sessions and Mr. Ashok, ODP, Mysuru proposed the vote of thanks.
