Training On Sustainable Development

A training on Sustainable Development was conducted at KROSS Resource Centre on 25th October, 2017 for 60 participants from all over the State to create awareness and chalk out a strategy for the sustainability of the Grassroots, Taluk & District Level Federations so that the Federation Members themselves own up the program and work for the betterment of the community.

In his keynote address, Rev. Fr. Sebastian Fernandes, Director, KROSS emphasised that sustainable development should meet the present need without compromising the ability of the future generations to meet their needs. At the grassroots we have to initiate a bottom-up solution for sustainable development that responds to the local situation and the interests of the community.

Mr. John Bosco who facilitated the training conducted different games, cited real life examples and through group exercise initiated a debate on the need of the people themselves owning up the federations and creating platforms so that the federations sustain by themselves.

Sr. Zita D’Souza, Chief Coordinator, Women Empowerment Program, KROSS welcomed the gathering. Mr. Staney Fernandes, Coordinator, Sampada, Udupi moderated the day’s sessions and Ms Sudhamani, Coordinator, JVSSS, Mandya proposed the vote of thanks.
