About 130,000 poor and marginalized women in the state of Karnataka have become active members of 7,705 Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and are working towards the common goal “Equality, dignity and improved quality of life” for themselves, their family members and community”.
The SHG members have formed 512 Grass-Root level Federations, for collective bargaining power to tackle common issues and for lobbying and advocacy for claiming their legitimate rights such as basic needs.
883 elected women representatives to the Grama Panchayats are emerging with the quality as value based leaders.
A total of 69,203 women have been actively participating in the decision-making process in village courts.(Grama Sabhas).
IV & V Reducing Child Mortality and Improving Maternal Health<
50,837 children are immunized against Diphtheria, Tetanus and Polio (DPT).
13,860 pregnant women are immunized.
62,580 SHG members are sensitized about preventive and promotive health and have improved their health.
