Training on Conflict Management held at BMSSS, Bangalore

The two-day intensive training on Conflict Management was conducted from January 30 th to 31 st , 2024 at BMSSS, Bangalore. This training aimed at equipping participants with the essential skills and knowledge to effectively handle and resolve conflicts arising in their families, workplace, etc. The program was attended by 37 women participants from 4 different partner organizations (BMSSS, ODP, JVSSS & CMSSS). The day commenced with a traditional lamp lighting ceremony by Rev Fr Sanhosh Rayan, Director, BMSSS, Mrs. Laina Violet Lasrado, Program Coordinator WEP, and 4 members from the partner organizations

The training included interactive workshops, role-playing scenarios, and expert-led sessions by experts like Ms. Sushma Veer, Mrs. Priya Francis, Mr. Francis Inban and Mr. Elisha Andrew.

A significant focus of the training was on identifying the root causes of conflicts and understanding the different conflict styles and how they impact resolution approaches. Participants learned about the Conflict Mode Instrument, which proved instrumental in self- assessment and understanding others' conflict resolution styles. On day two the participants were divided into three groups and were asked to enact the scenarios of conflicts arising in the family, SHG and workplace. The training program was brought to a close with a formal vote of thanks, extending gratitude to the speakers, participants and organizers for their contributions and efforts.
