Cluster level training on the Constitutional Rights, DKRDS Belthangady

The cluster level training on the Constitutional Rights conducted on 16 th and 17 th November 2023 at DKRDS, Belthangady aimed to empower participants with a comprehensive understanding of fundamental constitutional rights and their implications.

The training commenced with a prayer followed by an introductory speech by Rev Fr Binoy AJ, Director DKRDS, and Ms Priya Agnes Chacko, Child development Project Officer, Department of Women and Child Welfare, Belthangady. 47 members from various DSSS participated in the program. The primary goal of the training was to provide participants with a clear understanding of the constitutional rights. Participants were educated on how constitutional rights apply in different scenarios, such as the workplace, public spaces and online environments.

The training included an overview of the legal framework surrounding constitutional rights, exploring relevant cases and historical context to deepen participants knowledge.

On the second day participants engaged in case studies and interactive discussions to apply theoretical knowledge to real world scenarios, fostering a practical understanding of constitutional rights.

Esteemed legal professional Dr Saleen Thomas, Advocate and Director, Good Shepherd Major Seminary, Kerala was invited to share their expertise, offering insights into current legal interpretations and challenges related to constitutional rights.

Feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive. The Constitutional Rights training successfully achieved its objectives by providing participants with a solid understanding and practical applications.
