Training on Gender Equality

On September 19th, 2023, a Training on Gender Equality was organized at the KROSS Resource cum Training Centre in Bengaluru, with the primary objective of creating gender sensitivity and providing greater clarity on the concept gender equality to the federation members. The event garnered participation from 31 individuals representing 14 partner organizations.

The program commenced with a prayer led by the participants, following this, a warm welcome was given by Sr. Nancy, the program coordinator. Sr. Nancy, on behalf of the federations, extended a heartfelt welcome to all participants emphasizing the importance of the event's objectives.

The federation members introduced themselves to the rest of the participants, facilitating better interaction and networking among the participants. Fr. Anil Prasad, one of the resource persons, then provided valuable insights into the concept of gender equality. His presentation shed light on the significance of gender equality in today's society, helping participants to gain a deeper understanding of the subject.

Following this, Fr. Richard Pais, the Director of KROSS, conducted a session on the role of gender equality in women's empowerment. This session proved to be highly interactive, with women actively engaging by raising questions and seeking clarification on various aspects of gender equality.

Sr. Nancy the program coordinator, divided the participants into seven groups, each tasked with formulating an action plan for their respective federations concerning gender rights. These group discussions encouraged collaborative thinking and the sharing of ideas among participants.

In the concluding segment of the program, all seven groups presented their action plans, highlighting their strategies and objectives for promoting gender equality within their federations.

The Training Program concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all the participants, trainers, and organizers for their active involvement and commitment to the cause of gender equality.
