Training on Panchayat Raj at CODP Mangalore

Date: September 21st & 22nd - 2023

Panchayat Raj training was organized at CODP Mangalore On September 21, 2023. The training was attended by the members of women federation and a few staff members from four different partner organizations: SAMPADA Udupi, DKRDS Belthangady, CODP Mangalore, and KIDS Puttur and 41 participants were present.

The training commenced with a prayer led by a DKRDS Federation member. It was then inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp by Mr. Durga Das, Rev. Fr. Vincent D’souza the CODP Director, and also the KROSS coordinator, along with federation members.

In his inaugural message, the Director of CODP expressed heartfelt appreciation to all the federation members and wholeheartedly congratulated the participating women for actively participating in the training. He further encouraged the participants to seize the opportunity and make maximum use of the workshop.

Mr. Durga Das conducted the workshop on Panchayat Raj, sharing his experience and knowledge through group activities and stories. Additionally, all the staff members shared their experiences about the workshop.

On the second day of the program, the KROSS coordinator instructed all four DSSS organizations to prepare an action plan for the next six months from what they learned from workshop. This plan aimed to outline how women could actively participate in the ward and Grama Sabha and make use of it. At the conclusion of the training, all four DSSS federation women presented their action plans through interactive discussions.

Mrs. Ajith, the KIDS coordinator, extended a vote of thanks to CODP for organizing the training, as well as to KROSS and all the participants from the four DSSS organizations.
