Women Empowerment Program Launching
Women empowerment program was launched on 5th of June, 2023.The program began by 2 pm where the President, DSSS Directors, KROSS staff all the field staffs were welcomed by Ms. Laina, state coordinator of Women empowerment program. Later a video was presented to all the members present which showcased the achievements of WEP at the grassroots. The director of KROSS shared introductory words and engaged all the participants by interacting with them. Ms. Maitreyi (Advocate, works for Women labour Unions and Pourakarmikas) was the chief guest for the day. She motivated the participants by sharing her knowledge and wisdom on empowering women. Through her work experience she pondered her thoughts by enhancing the role of women in everybody's life. Later Fr. Binoy Director, DKRDS and Fr Alex Siqueira Director, ODP shared their experience on WEP at the DSSS level and how it has been a game changer for numerous vulnerable people. Most Rev. Dr. Francis Serrao S.J. President KROSS, delivered the presidential address and expressed the wish to transform the vulnerable lives for the betterment of the society. The vote of thanks was given by Fr. Peter Ashirvadappa, Director-BDSSS.

On 6TH of June 2023, all the program coordinators and animator were orientated on the new objectives of WEP and the session was facilitated by Sr. Nancy, Ms. Laina and the senor DSSS coordinators. It ruminated intrigue notion among the field staffs to perform better. The session was later taken over by the resource person of the day, Ms. Brinda Adige an extremely passionate women rights activist, development consultant, author, and founder of Global concerns India. She acquainted the members present on concepts of sex, gender interpersonal dynamics for SHGs, gender language and various other topics. Post lunch Sr. Nancy resumed the session and Fr. Richard Pais interacted with the staff members and solicited their opinions on improvising WEP for the current phase. Finally, the coordinators and the animators from each DSSSs were asked to prepare the action plan in their groups and submit the same.
