TRAINING ON INDIAN CONSTITUTION & HUMAN RIGHTS

KROSS organized a Training on Indian Constitution & Human Rights at KROSS Resource Centre, Bengaluru on 27th September 2018. A total of 32 participants from all over the State participated in the trainings.

Fr. Sebastian Fernandes, Director, KROSS welcomed the gathering and Mr. Clement Fernandes, Manager-Program Support, KROSS introduced the Resource Person, Advocate Sr. Juliet Cutinha.

His Excellency, Dr. Gerald Lobo, Bishop of Udupi & President, KROSS inaugurated the session by lighting the lamp. In his inaugural address he exhorted the participants to teach the Constitutional Values to the people so that everyone respects the fundamental rights & duties and enjoys Justice, Liberty, Equality and Fraternity.

The Resource Person explained that the Indian Constitution guarantees Fundamental Rights to all its citizens like Right to Equality, Right to Freedom, Right against Exploitation, Right to Freedom of Religion, Cultural and Educational Rights and Right to Constitutional Remedies. The Resource Person continued that Human Rights as enshrined in the Indian Constitution are generally defined as the rights which every human being is entitled to enjoy can be found in the Preamble of the Constitution of India.

The sessions were moderated by Sr. Zita D’souza, Project Officer, KROSS and the vote of thanks was proposed by Fr. Reginald Pinto, Director, Sampada, Udupi./div>
