A Training on Rights Based Approach to Integrated Development was organized at KROSS Resource Centre on 22nd February, 2018 in which 30 participants from different organizations from all over Karnataka State participated.

Sister Nancy Lobo. General Secretary, Amala Kutumba Abhivrudhi Yojane), Tumakuru who facilitated the training first explained what the term Rights Based Approach meant and how we should integrate the rights in our ongoing projects. She then introduced the participants to a practical approach to rights based development, made them aware of the principles and practices and how to apply these into planning & implementing the project. The topics covered were Rights Based Approach and its concept, Clarity on Fundamental Rights & Human Rights, Concept Clarity on Poverty, Justice, Rights & Development, how to analyze and integrate Rights Based Approach in the programme to enable the stakeholders to get their entitlements.

The methodology followed was lectures, sharing of life stories, questions & answers, group discussions, interactive games to analyze life situations, evaluation of one’s experience in field during the past one year and generating debate on how practically the right based approach could be a component of the ongoing programs.

Mr. Rajashekar, Program Officer, KROSS welcomed the gathering, Ms Padmavathi, MSSS, Bhadravathi moderated the sessions and Mr. Ramesh, BMSSS, Bengaluru proposed the vote of thanks.
